There are two ways to follow your refund status!
- Email: Flywire will update you by email when we’ve received your refund from your institution, if we need any additional account information, and when we’ve sent the refund to the originating account.
- On your Flywire account: If your payment is linked to a Flywire account, you can track your refund by logging into your account and selecting the payment from the "Your Payments" section. Note: This is only for Flywire account holders. Your refund status will read as one of the following:
Initiated: Your institution has initiated the refund process. Flywire doesn't have the funds yet - we are still waiting to receive them in our account from your institution.
Received: Flywire has now received the refund from your institution. You will receive an email from Flywire at this point if we need any additional information before processing your refund. Typically, funds will be processed with Flywire for 2 business days.
Finished: Your refund was sent to the originating account! You can see the date, amount, and currency of your refund in your account. Most refunds will be received within 5 business days, however, please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to reach the originating account.
Cancelled: Your refund has been cancelled by your institution. You can see the date of the cancellation in your account. If you don’t know why the refund was cancelled or want to initiate a new refund, please contact your institution directly.
