Flywire makes it easy and safe to make local payments in Chinese Yuan (CNY) from China. If you wish to make a payment in CNY, simply create a payment booking on www.flywire.com and select your payment Country or region as China and enter the amount in the Destination currency and click next. You will be presented with a selection of different payment methods that are accepted through Flywire:
You can make payments through this method via online banking, mobile banking or over the counter at your personal bank. Kindly note that through this method, you are required to provide a payment notice from the institution/school you are paying to before we are able to process your payment. The limit per transaction through Flywire using this method is up to 150K USD. Payment status will be updated 2 business days after payment is successfully made.
This payment method supports up to 150 different issuing banks for both credit and debit cards under UnionPay. Depending on the issuing bank and type of card, different users may have different transaction limits (Per transaction, per day transaction limits and amounts). Please clarify with your respective issuing banks if you have a transaction limit before making the payment. Once payment is successful, the status will be updated to “Received” immediately.
Users must have an Alipay account before choosing this method. This payment made through Flywire has a limit of up to 200K CNY (~20K USD equivalent). Depending on your personal Alipay account settings, different transaction limits may apply. Users will be required to upload document(s) showing purpose of payment. The document(s) will be verified within 2 business days.
All MasterCard/Visa credit/debit card transactions must be denominated in CNY to be used on Flywire. Transaction limits may apply for different users depending on personal credit limits. It is recommended to check with your issuing bank to remove any online payment or cross boarder payment restrictions on card usage before making the payment. Once payment is successful, the status will be updated to “Received” immediately.
