Your card payment may fail if your bank or card issuer declines the transaction, blocks online or international payments, requires additional verification, or if the card details entered are incorrect.
Check your card details before trying again
Before trying your payment again, make sure:
- Your card number, expiration date, and security code are entered correctly.
- The cardholder name matches the name shown on your card.
- Your card has enough available balance or credit limit.
- Your card is active and has not expired.
- Your card is enabled for online and international payments.
- You have not reached your daily or transaction spending limit.
- The card brand matches the payment method you selected in Flywire.
Contact your bank or card issuer
If your card details are correct but the payment still fails, contact your bank or card issuer.
Ask them to check whether:
- The payment was blocked for security reasons.
- Your card is allowed for online or international transactions.
- Your card has a daily, transaction, or international payment limit.
- Additional verification is required to process the charge.
- The transaction needs to be approved before you try again.
Once your bank or card issuer confirms the issue is resolved, return to your Flywire tracking page and try the payment again.
What if my one-time password is not working?
A one-time password, or OTP, is a temporary code used by your bank or card issuer to verify your identity during a card payment.
If you do not receive the OTP, contact your bank or card issuer to confirm which phone number or email address is linked to your card.
If you receive the OTP but it does not work, try the following:
- Make sure you entered the latest OTP.
- Check that the OTP has not expired.
- Make sure your internet connection is stable.
- Clear your browser cache or restart your device.
- Try the payment again using another supported browser or device.
If the OTP still fails, contact your bank or card issuer for further help.
If your card payment still fails
If you have contacted your bank or card issuer and your card payment still does not go through, you can:
- Try another card, if available.
- Select another payment method shown in your payment request.
- Create a new payment request if your current card payment option is no longer available.
