1. What is PromptPay?
PromptPay is a new service that enables you to easily receive and transfer funds, using a payer’s Citizen ID or mobile phone number instead of a bank account number, via electronic channels – namely internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs. PromptPay service is part of the payment infrastructure development project of the Thailand.
2. What payment channels can be used with PromptPay?
PromptPay allows various channels specified by the money transferer's bank, such as ATMs, Internet/Mobile Banking, or bank branches, etc. However, the service channels may differ by each bank.
3. What are the limits on the size of a single transaction, the number of daily transactions, and the total value of daily transactions when making funds transfers via PromptPay?
There is no limit to the number of daily funds transfers via PromptPay. The maximum amount per transaction and the total value of daily transactions are set by each bank.
4. Does payer need to register PromptPay before making fund transfer money?
Payer transferring money via PromptPay does not need to register for PromptPay.
5. Is PromptPay Service safe?
PromptPay service is highly secure according to international standards. and is under the supervision of the Bank of Thailand closely as well as the different types of money transfer systems that are currently available.
