Under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) requires an "A2 cum LRS Declaration" form to legally transfer funds abroad.
What is the A2 cum LRS Declaration?
If you select "Domestic Bank Transfer in INR" for your Flywire payment from India, you will be required to complete this digital form on our platform when creating your payment request. Once completed and digitally signed, the form is securely sent to our local Indian banking partner for verification before your final payment instructions can be generated.
How to complete your LRS Declaration online
Once you reach the LRS form page during your payment request process, please follow these four simple steps:
Step 1: Provide your basic information
Enter the student's name, student ID, and the bank account number.
Note: The account number required here must be the exact bank account from which the funds will be transferred.
Step 2: Declare past international transactions
If you have made any foreign currency transactions via bank transfer during the current Indian financial year (April 1st – March 31st), please declare them here.
How to fill in the details:
For each previous transfer, you must provide:
- Date: The exact date of the transaction.
- Amount: The total amount in the foreign currency.
- AD Branch Details: The name and address of the bank used for the transfer.
💡 Tip: If you have more than one transaction to report, click the "ADD MORE TRANSACTIONS" button. If you have no past transactions, simply leave this table blank.
🛑 What NOT to include
To ensure your TCS is calculated correctly, please DO NOT include:
- The amount of your current Flywire payment request.
- Any transactions made using credit or debit cards.
💰 Special Instructions for Loans
If your past transactions were funded by an education loan:
- Direct Bank Loan: Obtain the transaction and AD branch details directly from your lending bank.
- Loan via Personal Account: If the loan was first disbursed to your savings account, use your personal account details.
Step 3: Upload supporting documents
You are required to upload three specific documents (PDF, PNG, or JPG; combined size under 8MB):
- Admission letter or tuition invoice of the student.
- Passport of the student.
- Valid National ID of the payer with address proof (e.g., Passport or Aadhaar card).
Note: PAN cards are NOT accepted as address proof.
Step 4: Sign, preview, and submit
Once the fields are filled and documents are uploaded, click "Preview document" to review your information. Sign the declaration digitally and click submit.
What happens after submitting your LRS Declaration?
Upon successful submission, an email containing your LRS Declaration is sent to both you (the payer) and our local banking partner. Flywire will then immediately generate your payment instructions. You can use these instructions to complete the NEFT/RTGS transfer via your online banking portal, or download them to show to your bank teller.
Please Note:If our local partner finds any mistakes or requires more information to clear the LRS/TCS checks, they will reach out to the payer directly via email to request edits. You can also resubmit the LRS form via your Flywire tracking link.
