If you are making an international transfer from South Korea, please see the common questions below regarding bank requirements and Kakao Bank.
Which bank should I use for an international bank transfer?
Flywire does not restrict which bank you can use. As long as your bank can process an international wire transfer using the payment instructions we provide, we will be able to receive your funds.
Important: Some banks may be unable to send funds to a corporate checking account. If your bank can only transfer funds to personal accounts, please use a different bank that supports transfers to corporate accounts.
Can I use Kakao Bank for international transfers?
Yes, you can use Kakao Bank to complete your international transfer. However, because Kakao Bank’s system requires additional manual matching, you must provide us with specific documentation once your transfer is finished.
Once your transfer is complete, please share the following details with our support team through our web contact form:
- WL Reference Number: Kakao Bank will issue a reference number starting with K followed by 10 digits (e.g., K##########).
- SWIFT Document: A copy of your bank's transfer confirmation.
- Flywire Payment ID
