If you are making a domestic bank transfer in THB, you might have a few questions about how our PromptPay virtual accounts work. Here are some quick answers to help you complete your payment smoothly.
Why does the THB account number change for every payment?
Each time you create a Flywire payment request, we generate a brand new, unique virtual bank account number just for that specific transaction. Please always use the account number provided in your most recent payment instructions, as it is linked directly to your newest Payment ID.
Can I make multiple THB transfers if my bank has a limit?
Yes, you can! While PromptPay allows up to THB 2 million per transaction, your personal bank might have lower daily transfer limits. Because of this, you are welcome to send multiple smaller transfers to fulfill a single payment request.
Important: If you need to make multiple transfers, please ensure all funds are sent from the same bank account.
Why is the bank saying the THB account number is invalid?
Flywire's THB virtual accounts only work with internet banking, mobile banking, and ATMs.
Please do NOT try to make your payment in person at a bank branch or counter. The bank tellers' systems cannot locate these virtual account numbers, which will result in an "invalid account" error.
What if I couldn’t enter my Payment ID as a reference for my THB payment ?
Don't worry, this will not be an issue! Because your THB virtual account number is unique to your specific payment request, we can automatically locate and match your funds—even without the Payment ID—as long as you sent the money to the exact account number provided.
What if I accidentally sent funds to a previous THB virtual account?
If you transferred money using the bank details from an old or expired payment request, please reach out to our support team so we can help you match the funds:
- If you already have a new Payment ID: Please email us your bank receipts or screenshots along with your new Payment ID via our web contact form.
- If you don’t have a new Payment ID yet: Please create a new payment request first. Then, share the new Payment ID and your bank receipts/screenshots with us via our web contact form.
