Overview
Flywire offers Interac as a payment method for domestic payments in Canadian dollars (CAD). After the payer confirms the Interac e-Transfer Request, the payment is typically settled within minutes. However, it may take up to 24 hours for the funds to be reported and the payment status to be updated.
Please keep in mind that transactions are subject to limits set by the user’s bank, generally ranging from $2,500 to $3,000 CAD, to ensure secure and manageable transfers.
Please see below a step by step process to complete your Interac payment.
Step 1: Create a payment request
- Select Interac as the payment method
- Fill out the Payer Information and provide the user email address associated with the payer’s Interac account
- Fill out the information for the receiver and confirm the payment request
Step 2: Access the Interac e-Transfer request
- Once you confirm the payment, you’ll be redirected to your tracking page with instructions to complete your payment by accessing the e-Transfer request sent to the Interac email address provided during the booking process
- It may take up to 24 hours to receive the email. Please be sure to check your spam or junk folder.
Step 3: Confirm the payment
- Once you access the e-Transfer request and follow your selected bank’s specific payment flow, the funds are instantly deposited and the payer receives an email confirmation from Interac
- Flywire will update your payment status within 24 hours and will send a final confirmation email once the payment has been delivered to your institution
