To pay via domestic bank transfer in Nigerian Naira (NGN), Flywire will generate a temporary virtual bank account for you. Before you initiate your transfer, please review the requirements below to ensure your payment is not rejected or returned.
Important rules for your NGN bank transfer
- 48-Hour Expiration: The bank account details provided are virtual and will expire exactly 48 hours after being generated. If the 48 hours pass, you cannot use those details and must create a new Flywire request.
- Send the EXACT amount: You must transfer the exact NGN amount mentioned in your instructions. Incorrect amounts will be rejected by our partner.
- NGN Currency ONLY: This account strictly accepts NGN. Do not attempt to send foreign currencies.
- Maximum Limit ($20,000 USD): This method is only available for payments up to 20,000 USD (equivalent in NGN).
- Watch your bank's daily limit: If your total amount exceeds your personal bank's online transfer limit, your online payment will fail. In this case, you will need to visit your local bank branch in person to complete the transfer (ensuring you still do this within the 48-hour window).
Steps to complete your NGN bank transfer payment
Once you understand the rules above, please follow these steps:
- Retrieve your banking details: Go to your Flywire payment tracking page and click the "Make Your Payment" button. You will be redirected to our local partner's page to view your unique virtual account details.
- Initiate the transfer: Log in to your preferred online/mobile banking platform (or visit your bank branch if your amount exceeds online limits) and transfer the funds using the exact details provided.
- Confirm your payment: After sending the funds, return to your Flywire tracking page and click the "I have made this bank transfer" button. While this step is optional, it helps trigger the reconciliation process faster.
