Flywire is only able to provide you with a set of payment instructions upon creating a payment request. The instructions include our account details and an authorization letter explaining the partnership between Flywire and your institution, and contractually authorizes Flywire to collect payments on their behalf.
In order to complete your payment, you may need to visit your local bank and inform them of the need to access a foreign currency to pay education fees abroad (if applicable).
Your bank may ask you to provide the following:
- Bank Verification Number (BVN): number unique to a payer, every account holder should have a BVN as it’s a requirement to hold a bank account in Nigeria
- Form A: completed in person at a bank branch, this document tracks the amount remitted and the purpose of the remittance
- Invoice from the institution: this document can be provided directly from your institution
You will need to inform your bank that you would like to exchange Nigerian Naira (NGN) for the foreign currency of your choice using the Central Bank of Nigeria’s rate. Once the currency exchange has been completed, your bank will make an international bank transfer using the account details provided in the payment instructions.
