If you are paying from a country within the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA), you can easily instruct your bank to make a SEPA transfer using the Flywire EUR account details we provide you.
Even if Flywire’s EUR account is located in a different European country than your bank, a SEPA transfer is highly cost-effective and should not cost more than a standard local transfer.
Important tips for setting up your SEPA transfer
When you log into your online banking platform to initiate the transfer, please pay close attention to these two settings:
1. Select "International Transfer" (if applicable) If you are paying from a different country than where Flywire’s EUR account is located (e.g., your bank is in France, but our account is in Germany), you must select the “International transfer” option in your bank's portal. Don't worry, standard SEPA rules and low fees still apply!
2. Select "SHA/SHAR" for Details of Charges Your bank might ask you to select who pays the transfer fees (often called "Details of charges"). You must select “SHA” or “SHAR”, as this is the standard and only correct option for SEPA transfers. (For more information regarding these fee options, please see our detailed guide on Details of Charges).
💡 Worried about a short payment? As long as you send the exact amount and currency requested by Flywire, selecting SHA/SHAR will not affect the final amount delivered to your institution.
