If you are paying via Domestic Bank Transfer in INR, please review these specific guidelines for India to ensure your funds are processed correctly.
Can I use the same Indian bank details from a previous Flywire payment?
No. Do not reuse bank details from a previous transaction. Always create a new payment request for each INR transfer and follow the specific instructions provided for that Payment ID.
- Why details change: Banking instructions for India may update depending on the payment amount and the local payment processor used.
- Risks: Sending INR to outdated bank details may result in your payment being rejected or significantly delayed.
- When to contact us: If you have already sent funds to previous details, please contact us through our Web Form with your proof of payment.
How can I transfer the full amount if my Indian bank has a transfer limit?
Due to Indian TCS (Tax Collected at Source) regulations, do not make multiple split bank transfers to a single Flywire Payment ID. To complete your full payment, consider the following:
- Option 1: Contact your Indian bank directly to request a temporary increase in your transfer limit for international education purposes.
-
Option 2: You may create multiple payment requests for smaller amounts. Please note:
- Flywire can only process one active Payment ID per PAN at a time to ensure accurate TCS calculation for India.
- The first INR payment must be fully delivered before you can create a second Payment ID for the remaining balance under the same PAN.
- Alternatively, an immediate family member can create a separate request using their own PAN and bank account.
Why am I unable to view Flywire’s bank details for my INR payment?
If your chosen INR payment method requires an LRS Declaration (Liberalised Remittance Scheme), the bank details will remain hidden until the form is submitted.
- Action Required: Complete and submit the LRS Declaration form on your Flywire tracking page.
- Accessing Details: Once submitted, you can download the payment instructions containing the specific Indian bank account details.
Note: Not all INR payment methods require this declaration. If you do not see the form, simply follow the instructions provided on your tracking link.
Why is my INR payment status still "Pending" after my funds were debited?
It typically takes 1–3 business days for INR funds to reach Flywire’s local account in India and for your tracking status to update.
- Verification: Your status will update automatically once the funds are received and verified by our Indian payment partner.
- When to contact us: If your status has not updated after 3 business days, please submit your bank-stamped transfer receipt through our Web Form for investigation.
