How fast and when your payment status will be updated by Flywire (on the tracking link, via email and/or SMS) depends on the payment method. However, you can count on being updated immediately once Flywire receives your payment.
In general, when paying by card, payment statuses are updated immediately after a successful payment attempt. However, bank transfers typically take 2 to 3 business days to reach Flywire from the moment that your bank releases the funds.
Your institution can see the same status updates regarding your payment on their own Flywire Dashboard. When your payment is delivered to your institution, you can access your payment receipt via the delivery confirmation email.

Card payments and other online payment methods e.g. Paypal, Alipay, etc:
- We usually receive payments a few minutes after they are made successfully. You might see your payment status as “Payment verification”, which means that your payment is still going through our verification process. Once the verification is complete or if it is not required, your payment status will be updated to "Payment received" and you will receive a confirmation email

- We usually receive payments within 2 to 3 business days from the date your bank releases the funds
- ACH transfers (typically from within the US) may take up to 5 business days

“I made my payment but I did not create a payment request. What can I do?”

- A payment request is required each time you send a payment through Flywire. If you did not create a payment request before transferring your funds, please request proof of payment from your bank and submit it to us with a short explanation of the issue.
