To complete your bank transfer in Colombian Pesos (COP), you can use your online banking platform or visit your local bank branch using the account details provided in your Flywire instructions.
Important rules for COP bank transfers
To ensure your payment is successful, please follow these strict requirements:
- No cash or checks: We do NOT accept cash or check deposits for bank transfers. If you want to pay in cash, please select the Efecty payment method instead.
- Beneficiary Bank: You must select Citibank Colombia S.A. as the receiving bank, or your payment will be rejected.
Common questions for COP bank transfers
I cannot find or select "Citibank Colombia S.A." You might have heard that Citibank was partially acquired by Scotiabank Colpatria. However, this acquisition only affected personal accounts. Flywire uses a business account, which still operates under Citibank Colombia S.A.
- What to do: If your bank's system does not let you select Citibank Colombia S.A., please contact your bank for assistance. If they cannot resolve it, you will need to cancel the request and choose a different payment method.
My bank is asking for Flywire's local NIT Because Flywire is not a local entity in Colombia, our NIT (Número de Identificación Tributaria) is registered as a foreign company.
- What to do: Provide the NIT listed in your payment instructions. If your bank's platform strictly requires a local Colombian NIT and rejects the foreign one, you will need to select an alternative payment method.
