To comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, refunds must be sent back to the originating account—the same account used for the original payment. Since Flywire does not store this information, we may request proof of the original transaction to verify the payment source.
What Counts as Valid Proof?
- Domestic Bank Transfers (transfers made within the same country or within Europe): A bank receipt, transaction screenshot, or bank statement.
- International Bank Transfers (between different countries, excluding SEPA): A SWIFT MT103 or PACS008 document, issued by your bank.
Important Notes
- The document must show the transaction details, including the payment amount and originating account number used to send funds to Flywire.
- Receipts from your institution or Flywire cannot be accepted as proof of payment.
